UXcamp Europe 2016 is a barcamp – there are no spectators, only partcipants. So while a local planning team is busily preparing things and will make sure there is a location, a few blackboards, projectors and some snacks free of charge the contents and everything else are truly up to you the participants.
The slightly dated Rules of Bar Camp still nicely sum up the spirit and attitude we hope to see in all participants – be sure to read them if this your first barcamp or you need a reminder.
We’ll start on both Saturday and Sunday morning in a big auditorium, by having everyone who is interested in presenting, describe their topic and choose a room and time for their session. You may come with an idea for a session or discover one in conversation with other participants (that’s what the parties and the long breaks between sessions with plenty of snacks are for).
UXcamp Day 1 & Party, Saturday
At 9 AM the doors will open with coffee and breakfast-y snacks. Please bring along your Eventbrite ticket to get your badge!
We’ll gather in the main auditorium at 9:30 AM to put together the session board for Saturday. Lunch will be served at noon.
Blow-out party Klub der Republik @ WBB Willner Brauerei Berlin
UXcamp Day 2, Sunday
At 9 AM more coffee and breakfast-y snacks.
Let’s get the grid going on Sunday at 10 AM. There will be 15 minute breaks between sessions. Lunch will be served at noon.
The last session is at 4PM. It usually takes about 1/2 hour to clean up when everybody pitches in, so plan on being finished at 5:30PM on Sunday.
Erwin-Schrödinger Zentrum – Rudower Chaussee 26 – 12489 Berlin-Adlershof
If there is something that excites you about UX, IA, IxD, SD, etc. we strongly encourage you to share it in a session. Session information (topic, time, location) will get published on this site and on a couple of pin boards on location (That’s a session grid in barcamp speak) — and then we’re off! Join us with your ideas for a session and to figure out which ones you want to participate in. There will be 15 minutes between sessions to mingle and figure out where to go, next.
From the warmup party on Friday night to the closing session on Sunday, the success of the barcamp i.e great sessions, inspiring discussions and all the little problem solving along the way – is really up to you.
It may sound a little crazy, but we’ve seen it work really well five times, already. Come help us make this year another spectacular success!
